Original 1936-45 Time Period World War II Rare WWII Original Paint 1936 Dated Helmet with Liner and Chin Straps (If bids have been placed, please scroll down for any updates…)(No Visible Contract Numbers) Rare in This or ANY Condition..!! Don’t Miss This One….!! This very rare, early WW II War time period, just after the Hawley liners proved to be failures, high pressure helmet liner (marked with the Firestone WWII type shield trademark with «A 11» below it). This came straight out of a veteran’s military trunk and has not been altered by me in any way….. It’s an actual «..been there, done that…» piece of US military history… This M1 Helmet is most definitely an early WWII and It appears to have at one time to have had the leather chin strap attached. The liner has the WWII type suspension with the markings «J&J» in several places (last photo). Since the helmet liner had original dirt and grunge from WWII I only cleaned a small portion. I did not remove any of these suspension to see if there were hidden markings if there are any….. The new owner may do that if they wish. The M1 combat helmet was the iconic GI «look» from 1942 until 1985 when it was superseded by Kevlar designs. If it doesn’t generate some serious interest I will just keep it. I have several WWII M1 helmets that I acquired without liners which this would fit…. Note: This rare (1942-45) World War II front seam M1 helmet is in Good condition, has no markings on it and would be hard to upgrade…. This has been worn in the field, obviously. (photo 6). There are several dings and dents, notably on the top, and wear spots on the outside paint (especially where on the top)…. Pretty good for a helmet that has actually been in the field. I can send you a picture of any view or angle, just contact me well before the last day of the auction! This marked M1 combat helmet (complete) is not a reproduction, was made in the USA and is absolutely original to the period.
