304 GRADE STAINLESS STEEL 3″ INLET/OUTLET 5″ BODY 100CPSI DIRECT BOLT ON TO SUIT – NISSAN C33/A31/S13/R32/R33/BNR34 VENOM EXHAUST WORKS would like to introduce their bolt on range of High Flow Cats to suit High Performance Nissan Vehicles, including the S13, R32 and R33 Skylines and R34 GTR. This Bolt-on cat is our larger 500 Series unit which comprises of a 5″ Body Cat (3″ in/out) with a 100CPSI substrate for uncompromised flow. It will bolt up to all of the above models where the cat is in the factory position with 3″ Pipework. The High Flow Cat on this piece is also our latest design where the metallic substrate, as well as being welded to the casing, is also welded along the inner edges for extra strength, helping to prevent core substrate shift. The piece is also made from 304 Grade Stainless for long lasting durability. Turbocharged cars are more sensitive to exhaust restrictions than their NA counterparts, so by replacing the factory catalytic converter on your Nissan with a high flow unit, the result will be an increase power, increased boost pressure and response, as well as giving your car the ability to build more boost earlier in the rev range. The standard catalytic converter is only a 400CPSI design and features a ceramic substrate. Not only can it not flow the necessary amount to support higher power at efficient boost levels, the ceramic substrate is much weaker in design than a metal core cat. The 5″ Body Cat listed here supports more flow and can withstand higher operating temperatures than the smaller 4″ 400 Series Version, making it ideal for vehicles with more extensive modifications (250+RWKW) Total cost for the 500 Series Bolt on Nissan Cat is $350 including delivery anywhere in Australia. Why choose a Venom High Flow Cat? All OEM catalytic converters are made from a ceramic substrate and usually incorporate a 400 CPSI (Cells Per Square Inch) design. Factory cats are designed purely with the intention to reduce the toxicity of exhaust emissions, but from a performance perspective, they act as a block in the exhaust system, hindering flow and robbing horsepower. This is especially prevalent in newer vehicles which have to comply with tighter emissions standards and motors with forced induction. It is illegal to remove and run with no catalytic converter in Australia. The solution…….fit a High Flow Venom Cat!! All of the Venom High Flow Cats are constructed from 304 Grade S/S and feature a substrate which is fully welded around the inner edges, helping to increase strength and prevent core substrate shift. Unlike factory cats which run a ceramic internal substrate, the Venom Cats are constructed with a metal core substrate which offers many advantages. · Firstly, is its ability to withstand higher operating temperatures, meaning less chance of a substrate meltdown, which is a very important consideration in High Horsepower Turbocharged applications. · Secondly, ceramic is brittle in nature, and a metallic core sports a much stronger structure making it less prone to cracking on impact. This is important as on a vast majority of vehicles the catalytic converter has a close contact point with the road surface and in some cars it represents the lowest point. This becomes even more of an issue with cars that are running lowered springs. Metal core cats do not crack on impact like their ceramic counterparts and can withstand much more abuse. · Finally, the Metallic substrate can support higher flowing configurations compared to Ceramic Cats as they are limited to just 400CPSI. This is because the Ceramics strength and integrity is compromised even further with larger spaced holes in the substrate. Our highest flowing 100 CPSI design means that the internal holes of the cats are 4 times the size of most standard or Ceramic High Flow Cats, as shown in the pictures above.
